Following the disappointing results of matriculation examinations in Khyber Pakhunkhwa, in which around 80% of students failed, the provincial education department has sprung into action against the teachers.
The department is considering recommendations for the demotion of teachers following the disappointing results.
According to the education department, among 736 government schools, an alarming 80% of students failed the matriculation exams. Shockingly, in 82 government schools, not a single student managed to pass the examination.
Further breakdowns indicated that 98% of students in 24 government schools, along with 97% in 34 schools, faced failure. In addition, 96% of students in 21 schools and 95% in 38 schools experienced a setback in their matriculation results.
The report highlighted that educational institutions in tribal districts ranked highest among those delivering poor results.
In response, the education department initiated actions against teachers in these underperforming schools, including the issuance of teaching allowance deduction orders.
Recommendations for the demotion of teachers from schools demonstrating poor results have also been prepared by the education department.
