In a dramatic turn of events, a physical brawl between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawyer Sher Afzal Marwat and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Afnan Ullah Khan during a live television show has resulted in legal action being taken against the former.
The heated altercation took place on the popular TV show on a private channel, leaving viewers stunned as the exchange escalated into a physical brawl.
The incident, which has since gone viral on social media, showed the two engaged in a shouting match before Marwat reportedly assaulted Senator Afnan Ullah Khan.
After several days, Senator Afnan submitted a formal complaint to the Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) Operation Islamabad, Malik Jamil Zaffar, seeking the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against Sher Afzal Marwat.
Consequently, the Aabpara Police Station registered an FIR against Sher Afzal Marwat under Section 352 (Punishment for assault or criminal force otherwise than on grave provocation) and Section 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
In complaint, Mr Afnan accused Marwat of a physical assault that allegedly included slapping him multiple times and beating him to the point of near unconsciousness on the show's set.
Sher Afzal left Islamabad
Meanwhile, PTI lawyer took to X (formerly Twitter) and penned that "I have left Islamabad to avoid arrest by the sleuths of Maryam Nawaz. Inshallah will fight every kind of oppression."
