The High Commissioner to the UK, Jane Marriott met with the main political parties in Pakistan across Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi, as part of routine engagement.
In Islamabad, she met PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan.
In Karachi, she met leaders from PPP, GDA, and MQM-P.
In Lahore, she met PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and will meet leaders from IPP and PML-Q. She will continue to engage with other parties in the coming weeks.
In all meetings, she discussed a range of issues including UK-Pakistan relations, the economy, and the importance of timely, inclusive, and peaceful elections.
British High Commissioner Jane Marriott on Monday called on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Supremo Nawaz Sharif at the latter’s residence in Lahore.
The meeting was attended by former Prime Minister and President of PML-N Shehbaz Sharif, along with Senior Vice President and Chief Organiser Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
During the discussions, Mr. Nawaz emphasised the crucial role played by the Pakistani community residing in the UK in fostering a robust friendship between the two nations.
