The Peshawar High Court (PHC) is geared up to hear the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) petition for holding the general elections under the supervision of the judiciary on December 18 (Monday).
The two-member special bench, Chief Justice Mohammad Ibrahim and Justice Shakeel Ahmad, will hear the case.
The notices had already been issued to the concerned parties during the previous court session.
– PTI-Parliamentarians ready to contest elections: Pervez Khattak –
PTI Parliamentarians Chairman Pervez Khattak said on Saturday that despite his party being relatively new, it is ready to contest the upcoming polls.
Expressing his thoughts in Peshawar, the former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) chief minister said: “The Supreme Court’s verdict on Friday had ended all the rumours revolved around holding the elections. We welcome the apex court’s verdict.”
“Those who are complaining about not having a level playing field should contest the elections,” Khattak said.
He recounted the contributions he made to KP. “We had rolled out the health card project in KP. The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had imposed restrictions on the health card.”
