Former Australia batter Damien Martyn rallied behind Australia ahead of the World Cup final against India at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (November 19).
As the Australia team went on to become invincible in this World Cup following early defeats and proved why they are the heavyweights of the World Cup, an ex-Australian cricketer backed the Pat Cummins-led side.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday, Martyn shared a post consisting of the meme of US former president Barack Obama.
The 52-year-old captioned the post, saying, “Australia is the only team that can beat India in this World Cup.”

Former Pakistan cricketer Bazid Khan commended the efforts made by Australia captain Pat Cummins by putting up a circumspect knock and ensuring his side swept past South Africa in the second semi-final of the World Cup at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Thursday.
Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), the renowned commentator underlined the resilience shown again by Pat Cummins by hanging there till the end and paving the way for his side to seal the final spot.
“Cummins makes a habit of being there at the end. Australia find a way into world events. Why do we even doubt it?" wrote Bazid.
