The opposition reiterated its resolve to foil hostile and malicious designs against the country, according to a joint statement issued after the meeting.
According to details surfaced on Thursday, an opposition meeting was held at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad, after which a statement was issued. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi made a special appearance at the meeting. The statement said the nation remains united in the fight against terrorism. A briefing on the health of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan was also given during the meeting.
Moreover, the joint parliamentary party and the PTI leadership attended the meeting, the statement said. The participants reviewed the overall political, security and provincial situation in detail. The meeting strongly condemned recent incidents of terrorism in Balochistan. Deep sorrow and grief were expressed over the martyrdom of security personnel and innocent civilians.
The participants conveyed heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families of the martyrs, the statement added.
