Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Global Industrial and Defence Solutions (GIDS) in Islamabad, where he was warmly received by Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
During the visit, Field Marshal Munir personally guided the esteemed guest and his delegation through the facility.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), President Mirziyoyev held a formal meeting with the Chief of Defence Forces and was briefed on GIDS’s modern defence solutions, industrial capabilities, and technological innovations.
The Uzbek delegation also inspected key installations at the facility and viewed a range of defence products, highlighting Pakistan’s growing expertise in defence manufacturing and industrial development.
Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding partnerships, knowledge exchange, and joint projects. The visit underscored the shared commitment to strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan in defence, technology, and industrial sectors.
The visit was seen as a significant step toward exploring new opportunities for bilateral defence collaboration and further enhancing strategic ties between the two countries.
