Under the Ramzan Nigahban Package, prices for essential food items have been fixed in special markets.
An important meeting regarding the package was held at the Department of Food Safety and Consumer Protection, chaired by Special Assistant for Food Safety and Consumer Protection Salma Butt.
During Ramzan, a 10-kilogram bag of flour will be available for Rs850 in model, convenience, and Ramzan markets. Salma Butt stated that every flour mill will establish three sale points in its district to provide subsidized flour. Chicken and eggs would be available at cheap rates in special markets.
During Ramzan, 1,216 ‘Maryam Ka Dastarkhwan’ centers will be set up across 152 tehsils of Punjab, providing meals to 250 people throughout the month.
Salma Butt added that all model and convenience Ramzan markets in Punjab would become functional from February 15. The markets will operate daily from 9am to 5pm.
