Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed fresh resolve to eradicate polio from Pakistan during a meeting with a delegation of the Gates Foundation.
According to details that surfaced on Wednesday, the prime minister met Gates Foundation global development president Chris Elias. The meeting focused on ongoing efforts to eliminate polio from the country.

The prime minister said the government would continue concrete measures with the support of partners such as the Gates Foundation. He acknowledged the valuable contributions of Bill Gates towards polio eradication in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan remained deeply grateful for the cooperation of the Gates Foundation and brotherly Muslim countries in efforts against polio. He added that the government was pursuing practical steps through a comprehensive strategy and an effective team.
He reaffirmed his commitment to the complete elimination of the disease from Pakistan. The prime minister said that despite notable progress, further emergency-level measures remained essential to achieve lasting success.
