The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued an alert warning of possible rain and snowfall in several regions over the next twelve hours, urging the public to remain cautious and avoid unnecessary travel.
According to an NDMA spokesperson, rain and snowfall are expected in most districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir during the next 12 hours. The weather conditions may lead to slippery roads and disruptions in traffic flow.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain has been predicted in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Malakand, Kurram, Waziristan, Mansehra, Mohmand, Buner, Haripur, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Swabi, Karak, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Kohat.

Authorities warned that road conditions in hilly and mountainous areas could deteriorate rapidly.
Weather outlook for Gilgit-Baltistan
In Gilgit-Baltistan, rain is likely in Gilgit, Astore, Ghizar, Diamer, Skardu, Hunza and Shigar. The NDMA said snowfall is expected in mountainous areas, increasing the risk of road blockages and travel delays.
Rain, snowfall forecast in AJK
In Azad Kashmir, rain and snowfall are expected in Bagh, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Haveli, Kotli, Bhimber and Neelum. Residents in these areas have been advised to remain alert due to the possibility of adverse weather conditions.

The NDMA has directed the public to avoid unnecessary travel during rain and snowfall and to adopt precautionary measures to prevent accidents. Slippery roads and reduced visibility could pose serious risks, particularly in northern and hilly regions.
Rescue and road restoration
In view of possible dangers, the NDMA has instructed relevant rescue and road restoration agencies to remain on high alert. Authorities have been told to ensure timely response in case of emergencies, including road closures or weather-related incidents.
The spokesperson also urged citizens to use the Pak NDMA Disaster Alert App for authentic information, awareness of potential risks, safety measures and official guidance during adverse weather conditions.
