An international journal has praised Pakistan’s notable diplomatic success in Washington.
According to the The Diplomat, Pakistan has established itself in Washington as an indispensable and reliable partner. The country’s firm diplomacy has given Pakistan–United States relations a new direction.
The journal stated that Pakistan transformed a regional dispute into a diplomatic advantage at the global level, thereby reinforcing its importance in the United States. The journal has also acknowledged Pakistan’s effective diplomacy.
In contrast, India is facing a 50 per cent American tariff and has been denied a presidential visit, the journal reported. It added that India rejected a United States offer of mediation on its dispute with Pakistan.
The journal added that relations between the United States and India have entered a phase of deep stagnation.
According to The Diplomat, President Donald Trump invited the Pakistani Army Chief to the White House. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Asim Munir also paid a visit to the White House.
The discussions between President Trump and Field Marshal Asim Munir extended beyond security matters to trade and investment. The journal reported that Pakistan–United States counter-terrorism cooperation has been restored.
An important trade agreement on tariff reductions has been concluded between Pakistan and the United States, the journal said. Pakistan has also secured American approval for the upgrade of its F-16 aircraft.
The journal said that the United States has included the BLA and the Majeed Brigade in its list of terrorist organisations.
