Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Friday said there is clear documentary evidence proving the use of Afghan soil for terrorism against Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Talking to the media in Islamabad, Ali Amin Gandapur said both the provincial and federal governments possess solid evidence of infiltration from across the border. He stressed that these claims are backed by official records, not mere allegations.
“As a former chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, I confirm these facts,” he said.
TTP operations traced back to Afghanistan
Gandapur said the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is carrying out terrorist operations against Pakistan from Afghan territory. He added that elements present in Afghanistan are directly involved in attacks inside Pakistan.
He further claimed that some militants involved in suicide attacks, who were later killed, were Afghan nationals.
The former KP chief minister said the Afghan Taliban regime is fully aware of the activities of the banned TTP. According to him, Afghan citizens have been involved in several terrorist incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and many were arrested during security operations.
“These are facts proven from official records,” he reiterated.
National security must come first
Gandapur said Pakistan seeks good relations with neighbouring countries, including Afghanistan, but stressed that national security must take priority. He warned that there would be no compromise on Pakistan’s sovereignty and internal security.
“Pakistan should have good relations, but national security comes first,” he said, adding that the country cannot tolerate the use of its neighbour’s soil for terrorism.
He concluded by emphasizing that any elements threatening Pakistan’s peace and stability would be dealt with decisively. Gandapur said safeguarding the country’s security and sovereignty remains non-negotiable.
