He added that 11 hospitals have been established on the pattern of the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD), where 2.9 million patients received treatment in one year.
Bhutto-Zardari said measures have also been taken to improve education. The former foreign minister said that until 2008, Sindh had only 10 universities, while the number has now increased to 30. Bhutto-Zardari said Sindh faced historic floods in 2022, during which thousands of schools were affected. Bhutto-Zardari added that 100,000 teachers have been recruited on merit in the province.
He said: "A poverty alleviation programme has been launched in Sindh, while the Benazir Income Support Programme remains a major social safety net at the federal level." He said 2.1 million houses are being built for flood victims in Sindh.
Bhutto-Zardari said under the Sindh Rural Support Programme, loans are being provided to millions of people, including interest-free loans for women, helping them become financially independent. He added that the largest housing project in the province is currently under construction.
He reiterated that the Sindh government is working for improvement in all sectors.
