President Asif Ali Zardari met with King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, where both leaders agreed to strengthen bilateral relations and enhance cooperation in the field of investment.
On the occasion, the president also invited Bahraini investors to invest in Pakistan.
The meeting took place at Qasr Al-Qudaibiya in Manama, where President Zardari was received with a guard of honour. He was awarded Bahrain’s highest honour, the Wisam
Al-Sheikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, First Class, in recognition of his valuable contributions to fostering ties between the two countries.
During the discussions, both leaders emphasized increasing collaboration in trade and investment, as well as joint projects in agriculture, IT, healthcare, tourism, and infrastructure. President Zardari expressed gratitude for the facilities provided to over 116,000 Pakistanis residing in Bahrain.
The leaders also exchanged views on regional and global issues, stressing unity and patience, and agreed to maintain close coordination at international forums including the United Nations.
Following the meeting, a luncheon was hosted in honour of President Zardari and his delegation.
