The President of the United Arab Emirates is scheduled to visit Pakistan tomorrow, prompting the federal capital to declare an official holiday.
According to a spokesperson from the National Assembly Secretariat, the Secretariat will remain closed on Friday, with all departments and activities, including standing committee meetings, postponed. New dates for the rescheduled meetings will be announced later.
In light of the foreign dignitary’s arrival, Islamabad Traffic Police have issued a special traffic plan. Various city routes will be closed to traffic from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, with diversions set up on the Expressway and Murree/Kashmir Road (Club Road).
Motorists traveling on the Expressway are advised to use Rawat to Rawalpindi-Peshawar Road. For access to the Expressway from IJ Principal Road and Srinagar Highway, service roads are recommended. Commuters are advised to allow an additional 20–25 minutes for their journeys.
Traffic police officers will be stationed on key routes to ensure smooth traffic flow and assist commuters during the visit.
