Adviser to the prime minister, Rana Sanaullah said on Friday that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has stopped his party from holding the negotiations with the government.
Expressing his thoughts on Samaa TV programme, 'Mere Sawal with Absar Alam', Sanaullah said: "Those who were part of the institution in the events of 8–9 May, the case will then go to a military court. If Faiz Hameed is involved, then other people, including Imran Khan, will also be involved."
"The chances of Faiz Hameed being involved are clear. If Faiz Hameed is involved, the case will go to a military court. The PTI founder carried out the long march and 9 May; if they are not involved, then who is, Rana Sanaullah.
Sanaullah said: "Faiz Hameed wanted to become army chief and interfered in some matters. According to his estimate, Faiz Hameed played an effective role in the long march and May 9."
"Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is speaking about protest. The KP CM did not speak about negotiations. Constitutionally, the KP chief minister should attend meetings; he participates cautiously," he maintained.
Speaking about Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Fazl-ur-Rehman, Sanaullah said: "Maulana Fazlur Rehman may not have decided to attend the conference on our suggestion."
"Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman makes his own decisions. Shah Mahmood Qureshi can carry forward the talks; we have not stopped them," Sanaullah said.
"The PTI people say they want negotiations. We said the Prime Minister also invited PTI to negotiate. We said the Speaker attempted to hold talks," Sanaullah added.
