Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari reiterated on Wednesday that India cannot unilaterally break the Indus Waters Treaty.

During a press conference in London, the former foreign minister said: "Pakistan has initiated a ceasefire phase. The people of both Pakistan and India desire peace, but India’s statements and actions are based on falsehoods and war."

"The treaty remains in force and any threat to stop water flow would violate international law. Pakistan has warned that such an action would be considered an act of war," the former foreign minister added.

The PPP chairman said that India was responsible for the killings of Sikh leaders and has funded violence in Pakistan through Afghanistan. "India has supporting banned groups such as the Baloch Liberation Army and Majeed Brigade. Pakistan has suffered from terrorism," he added.

He said India was conducting terrorist activities in several countries and in occupied Kashmir. "Despite the presence of hundreds of thousands of troops, the Pahalgam incident exposed India’s failure. United States President Donald Trump has repeatedly emphasised the need for peace, but India is reportedly sabotaging these efforts. Indian officials themselves acknowledge Kashmir as a disputed issue," Bhutto-Zardari added.

Bhutto-Zardari has praised Trump’s approach to the Kashmir issue and expressed gratitude. He said: "India’s conspiracies will fail and peace will prevail, although the threat of war remains until the Kashmir dispute is resolved."

Recalling Pakistan's befitting response to Indian aggression, Bhutto-Zardari acknowledged the leadership and services of Field Marshal Gen Syed Asim Munir.
