Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry said that Pakistan and China stand united against the scourge of terrorism and false narratives aimed at destabilising the region.
In an interview with Chinese media outlet CGTN Urdu, the military spokesperson strongly criticised what he termed as “baseless allegations” by an unnamed country.
He maintained that such accusations, lacking any credible evidence, are part of a broader effort to establish regional hegemony.
“The Pakistani nation has never bowed before, and we will not bow now. Our desire for martyrdom is greater than life,” said Lt Gen Chaudhry. “Whether in blue, white, or khaki uniform, martyrdom remains an honour for us.”
He stated that the foundation of Pakistan’s resilience lies in its faith, determination, and unity. “After the help of Allah Almighty, our self-confidence and national resolve are the biggest reasons for our victories,” he said, adding that international support for Pakistan stems from its principled stance on key issues.
The ISPR DG asserted that Pakistan and China stand united against terrorism, which he described as the “biggest obstacle in the path of development.” He said that both nations are committed to eradicating this menace and ensuring regional peace and stability.
He also lauded China’s rapid development, calling it an inspiration.
“The development model that China has presented with the world’s largest population is astonishing. The people of Pakistan also aspire for development and prosperity,” he noted.
Commenting on broader global challenges, Lt Gen Chaudhry said: “Today, humanity is confronting climate change, population growth, and the spread of misinformation. In such a world, can any country justify imposing its dominance on its neighbours without evidence or reason?”
The spokesperson stressed that Pakistan and China are “responsible countries” whose foremost priority is the welfare and well-being of their people. “Peace and stability are essential for prosperity. We are fighting terrorism because its only purpose is to halt progress,” he added.
He further stated that despite provocations, Pakistanis remain grounded in gratitude rather than arrogance. “In the streets of Pakistan, you will not see celebrations of victory but rather people humbly thanking Allah. We are a peace-loving nation.”
Calling for national unity, Lt Gen Chaudhry said that an “iron wall” comprising the people, armed forces, government, media, and youth must now focus its efforts on uprooting terrorism. “Once this evil is defeated, God willing, Pakistan will achieve a new level of development,” he concluded.
