The price of gold in Pakistan reached the highest ever in history on Thursday, reflecting global market trends.
In the local market, the price of 24-karat gold per tola hiked by Rs1,600, settling at the highest ever Rs290,300, according to data shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs1,372, taking it to Rs248,885.

In the international market also, the price of gold saw a rise of $15 on Thursday, reaching $2,778 per ounce with an additional premium of $20.
The price of silver in the local market hiked by Rs59 to reach Rs3,450 per tola.
