Pakistan has begun preparations for its centenary by launching a long-term national plan named 'Vision 2047', with young people placed at the centre of sustainable development, innovation and prosperity.
The 21-year vision will set national targets for development, economic transformation and the improvement of human capital until 2047.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is expected to formally announce 'Vision 2047' on August 12, marking International Youth Day.
The federal government has asked relevant ministries and divisions to submit their objectives and priorities for the plan.
All attached departments, autonomous bodies and government offices have also been invited to provide their views.
The government has further directed institutions to present strategic goals, key reforms and detailed proposals for inclusion in the long-term vision.
