Electricity consumers across the country, including K-Electric customers, will face an increase of Rs0.75 per unit under the June monthly fuel adjustment.
The additional charges will be recovered from consumers through their August electricity bills. The Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had requested an increase of Rs1.20 per unit under the monthly fuel adjustment.
The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) had reserved its decision after the hearing. Following scrutiny of the data, Nepra issued the notification.
Lifeline prepaid consumers and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations will remain exempt from the increase, according to the notification.
