Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has arrived in Pakistan on a two-day official visit.
According to details surfaced on Tuesday, a high-level delegation comprising ministers and senior government officials is accompanying the Kazakh president.
The president and the prime minister received the distinguished guest at Nur Khan Air Base in Rawalpindi.
The distinguished guest is to hold meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during which memoranda of understanding and agreements for cooperation in several sectors are to be signed between the two countries.
The visit of the Kazakh president also reflects a shared vision for peace and development in the region.
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev is also due to address the Pakistan–Kazakhstan Business Forum. According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, the visit is expected to assist in reviewing bilateral relations and considering new avenues of cooperation, including trade, logistics, regional connectivity and people-to-people contacts.
