A trader accused of embezzling 20 kilograms of gold from Lahore’s Ichhra Jewellery Market has been arrested.
According to details surfaced on Thursday, the suspect, identified as Sheikh Waseem, was wanted in connection with the alleged misappropriation of gold worth millions of rupees. Police said ten cases of criminal breach of trust had been registered against him on the complaints of the affected traders.
According to details, Sheikh Waseem allegedly fled on December 4 last year after taking 20 kilograms of gold from the Ichhra Jewellery Market. Owing to concerns that he might leave the country, his travel history was also obtained; however, no leads were found at the time.
After one and a half months of sustained efforts, law enforcement traced his location and arrested him from Islamabad.
