Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Davos and expressed heartfelt gratitude for Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and for its advocacy of the Palestinian position at international forums.
On the sidelines of the 26th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, PM Shehbaz continued a series of important meetings with world leaders. During his meeting with the Palestinian prime minister, he reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for the Palestinian cause.
The meeting took place in the Swiss city of Davos, where PM Mohammad Mustafa personally approached Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and introduced himself. He thanked Pakistan for its consistent and principled support for the Palestinian people.
PM Shehbaz also met the IMF managing director, Kristalina Georgieva. The meeting focused on challenges faced by emerging economies and cooperation for economic stability. The Prime Minister briefed her on improvements in Pakistan’s macroeconomic indicators, fiscal discipline, institutional reforms and the government’s commitment to sustainable growth.
The IMF managing director acknowledged Pakistan’s reform efforts and stressed the need to maintain the pace of long-term economic reforms.
