Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Sunday held the city administration and the Sindh government responsible for the Gul Plaza tragedy.
Addressing the media, Hafiz Naeem said the incident had exposed the failures of those in power. He said the people occupying positions in the mayor’s office, as well as in the provincial and national assemblies, were not fit to hold public office.
He questioned who would answer for the loss of precious human lives, adding that the Gul Plaza fire had laid bare the incompetence of the authorities.
The JI chief also appealed to the people of Karachi to come out on the streets in protest over the incident.
