The walima of Junaid Safdar, the grandson of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, was held at Jati Umra Farms on Sunday, attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, and other prominent political and social figures.
Junaid Safdar and Shanzeh Ali Rohail’s wedding reception saw around 800 guests in attendance. Field Marshal Asim Munir was specially invited and warmly welcomed by Nawaz Sharif.
Other notable attendees included Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, former Punjab chief minister Hamza Shehbaz, senior politician and the bride's father Sheikh Rohail Asghar, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, Federal Minister Khawaja Asif, PML-N Lahore President Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar, provincial ministers, and numerous members of the National and Provincial Assemblies, along with other PML-N leaders.
Guests were served a lavish menu featuring soup, chicken tempura, traditional chicken, Amritsari mutton pulao, fish, and carrot halwa prepared with desi ghee.
