At least 10 people lost their lives and several others were injured after a high-speed passenger coach overturned on the Makran Coastal Highway near Ormara, according to rescue and Edhi sources.
The accident occurred near Hud Goth, close to Ormara, on the Makran Coastal Highway, within Gwadar district. Rescue officials confirmed that the passenger coach overturned due to overspeeding.
As a result of the crash, nine passengers were killed on the spot, while several others sustained injuries. One of the injured later died during treatment in hospital, raising the death toll to 10.
According to rescue and Edhi sources, the passenger coach, named Al-Usman, was traveling from Karachi to Jiwani. The accident occurred while the vehicle was passing through the coastal stretch near Ormara.
Officials said high speed was the primary cause of the accident, which led the driver to lose control of the coach.
Rescue teams and volunteers from Edhi Foundation reached the scene soon after the accident was reported. The bodies of the deceased and the injured passengers were shifted from Darman Jah to Ormara for medical treatment.
Authorities said the injured are being provided immediate medical assistance at nearby hospitals.

Rescue officials confirmed that operations were carried out promptly to clear the accident site and assist the victims. Further details regarding the identities of the deceased and injured are expected after hospital assessments.
The tragic incident once again highlights the dangers of overspeeding on the Makran Coastal Highway, a route known for long stretches and high-speed traffic.
