The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said on Tuesday that the country received below-normal rainfall during the previous month, while temperatures remained higher than average.
According to the PMD, overall rainfall across Pakistan was 34 per cent below normal. Punjab recorded 73 per cent, Sindh 71 per cent, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 39 per cent less rainfall than normal. Balochistan received 11 per cent below-average rainfall.
In Gilgit-Baltistan, rainfall remained 25 per cent below normal, while Azad Kashmir recorded a 39 per cent shortfall.
The PMD reported that in December 2025, the average temperature across the country remained 1.2 degrees Celsius above normal.
Gilgit-Baltistan recorded an increase of 2.3 degrees Celsius, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa saw temperatures 1.5 degrees Celsius above normal.
Punjab recorded a temperature increase of 1.9 degrees Celsius, while Balochistan remained 1.2 degrees Celsius above average.
