Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice of the assassination of ANP leader Maulana Khan Zeb and directed the formation of an inquiry commission comprising a judge of the Supreme Court to investigate the incident.
According to details surfaced on Thursday, the premier has instructed the Ministry of Law and Justice to present a summary for the establishment of the inquiry commission before the federal cabinet. The commission will consist of one judge of the Supreme Court, who will examine all aspects of the incident and determine those responsible.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the inquiry commission will be constituted under the Pakistan Commission of Inquiry Act, 2017. Maulana Khan Zeb was targeted in Khar, Bajaur, on July 10.
The government has said that the commission will ensure a transparent and impartial investigation into the matter.
