Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and briefed him on the law and order situation in the country.
According to details surfaced on Sunday, the meeting also included an update on the ongoing development projects in Islamabad.
Separately, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, met with Naqvi, to discuss the security situation in the province and recent incidents of terrorism.
During the meeting, both the leaders exchanged views on the ongoing operations against the extremist group known as Khawarij, as well as the prevailing circumstances along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border.
Tributes were paid to the security forces for their effective actions in the province. The two leaders also honoured the martyrs of the terrorist attacks on the Police Training Centre and Nadra office in Dera Ismail Khan.
Discussion was held regarding the restoration of the damaged buildings of the Police Training Centre and the NADRA office in Dera Ismail Khan.
Kundi said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are committed to peace. He emphasised that the establishment of peace is essential for the province’s progress and prosperity.
He underscored the need for intelligence-based operations against the enemies of the nation and state.
Naqvi affirmed that the nefarious designs of India-backed terrorists would not succeed. He acknowledged the sacrifices of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the fight against terrorism with great respect.
