The third national anti-polio campaign of 2025 is set to kick off tomorrow across Pakistan, aiming to eradicate the poliovirus from the country.
Prime Minister's Focal Person on Polio Eradication, Ayesha Raza Farooq, formally inaugurated the campaign by administering polio drops to children in Islamabad.
According to the National Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), the campaign will run from May 26 to June 1, targeting over 45 million children across the country.
The synchronized campaign is being conducted simultaneously in Pakistan and Afghanistan, with special focus on border regions and nomadic populations to ensure no child is left unvaccinated.
Speaking at the launch, Ayesha Raza Farooq emphasized that eradicating polio is a national priority and a collective responsibility. She noted that continuous campaigns are vital to boost immunity and prevent the spread of the virus.
