Exports of textile products have experienced a 10 percent decline year-on-year during the initial quarter of the current fiscal year.
According to data from the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), exports of textile products generated $4.12 billion in foreign exchange from July to September. This is a 10% decrease from the same period in the previous fiscal year, when exports of textile products were valued at $4.59 billion.
Exports of textile products reached $1.35 billion in September 2023, a 12% drop from the same month the year before.
According to further data, overall exports of textile products fell by 18% between January and September 2023, to $11.90 billion, compared to the same time period the previous year, when they reached $14.53 billion.
