NFL star Travis Kelce has given fans another glimpse into his new married life, publicly referring to pop superstar Taylor Swift as his “wife” while reflecting on their wedding at Madison Square Garden.
Kelce, 36, made the comments on Wednesday, August 12, while speaking to reporters at the Kansas City Chiefs’ training camp.
Asked about the significance of getting married at New York’s iconic Madison Square Garden, Kelce said the venue had long held a special place in his childhood dreams.
“MSG, man, you know, I always told myself I go for a playoff game when the Knicks were rocking,” Kelce said.
He then referenced Swift’s appearance at a Knicks NBA Finals game in June, joking that she had experienced the venue while he was away at minicamp.
“My wife went when I was stuck in minicamp, I didn’t get my opportunity to go then,” he said.
Kelce described finally getting married at the venue as a dream come true.
“It’s kind of cool, you know, to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue, the Mecca of all sports venues, being able to get married in there... It was perfect,” he said.
The NFL star also joked about New York’s summer heat, praising the arena’s air conditioning.
“And the AC was cookin’, baby,” Kelce quipped.
Kelce calls wedding the “best night” of his life
Kelce also spoke warmly about the wedding itself, describing it as the highlight of his offseason.
“It was a fun offseason, man. Wedding was the best night of my life, and I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us,” he said.
The football star added that the celebrations were memorable but said his attention had now shifted back to the upcoming NFL season.

Swift and Kelce began dating in 2023 and announced their engagement on August 26, 2025.
The couple reportedly exchanged vows at Madison Square Garden in New York City in front of nearly 1,000 guests.
The star-studded guest list reportedly included Selena Gomez, Benny Blanco, Gigi Hadid, Bradley Cooper, Ed Sheeran, Dakota Johnson, Hugh Grant, Jennifer Lopez, Jimmy Fallon, Jason Sudeikis, Ethan Hawke, Maren Morris, Miranda Lambert, Kelsea Ballerini, The Chicks, Brad Paisley, Tommy Hilfiger and several other celebrities.
The ceremony was reportedly officiated by their friend Adam Sandler.
The couple also opted against a traditional bridesmaids-and-groomsmen arrangement. Swift’s brother Austin Swift reportedly served as man of honour, while Kelce’s brother Jason Kelce was best man.
Following the ceremony, jumbotrons outside Madison Square Garden reportedly displayed the message:
“JUST T&T MARRIED!”
Kelce’s latest comments mark one of his clearest public acknowledgements of his married life with Swift, as the NFL star prepares to return his focus to football.
