The Special Committee on Gallantry Awards, chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, has approved civil awards for 78 people in different categories, including martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country and ghazis who demonstrated exceptional bravery.
The decision was taken at a meeting attended by senior federal officials and representatives of all four provinces.
The honours include recognition for martyrs who laid down their lives for the country and ghazis who displayed courage and bravery in the line of duty.
The committee's decision aims to acknowledge extraordinary acts of bravery and sacrifices made in service of the nation.
Naqvi pays tribute to martyrs and ghazis
Speaking at the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi said encouraging people who demonstrate extraordinary bravery is a national responsibility. He said the country remains grateful for the eternal sacrifices of its martyrs and ghazis, describing their great sacrifices as a valuable asset of the nation.
Naqvi emphasized that recognizing their courage and sacrifices is essential to honouring those who have served and protected the country.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State Talal Chaudhry, the home secretary, the FIA director general and the cabinet additional secretary.
Representatives from all four provinces also participated in the meeting through Zoom. The committee reviewed and approved the awards for the 78 recipients in recognition of their bravery and sacrifices.
