Centre speeds up operations against illegal Afghan citizens
Authorities will now make arrests, carry out deportations and take strict action against those providing assistance to illegal residents. The federal government has decided to speed up operations against Afghan citizens living in Pakistan without legal documents after the end of the given period.
According to sources, every Afghan citizen living in Pakistan without a visa will be arrested immediately and deported. Legal action will also be taken against those who provide shelter or rented accommodation to illegal Afghan residents.
Afghan citizens' geo-fencing process completed
The geo-tagging and geo-fencing process of Afghan citizens in Punjab, including Rawalpindi, has been completed. Deputy commissioners have been directed to speed up arrests with the help of this data.
According to sources, the Ministry of Interior will receive daily reports on the operations. The reports will include the number of Afghan citizens arrested without visas, details of ongoing actions and the current status of those in custody.
The Ministry of Interior had also issued a letter on June 28 to Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir and all provinces regarding the matter.
