The Punjab government has withdrawn its decision to implement the Green Property Certificate after only 10 days.
Following the decision, the Punjab Land Records Authority has resumed the issuance of land record copies (Fard). Sources divulged that the land record system is not yet fully online, leaving citizens facing serious difficulties in obtaining the Green Property Certificate. The government therefore withdrew its decision.
Facility not available to every citizen
The Punjab Land Records Authority has now restored the issuance of the document under the name "Land Record Copy". The fee has been fixed at Rs5,000. However, the facility is still not available to every citizen.
Sources said the facility is currently available only for computerised mouzas. No clear policy has yet been prepared for non-computerised and manual mouzas, leaving many citizens still facing difficulties.
