Colombian pop star Shakira has revealed that footballer Kylian Mbappé was the first player to agree to appear in the music video for her song 'Dai Dai'.
The revelation came after France’s 2-0 victory over Morocco at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, where Mbappé was named Man of the Match after scoring one goal and providing an assist for Ousmane Dembélé.
Before the match, Shakira thanked Mbappé and said: “An interesting fact is, did you know that Mbappé was the first person to agree to appear in my ‘Dai Dai’ video? Kylian, I will always be grateful to you for this. Thank you very much.”
Mbappé allowed the use of the phrase “We are ready” at the start of the song’s video. The slogan was part of the promotional campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Other stars who responded to Shakira’s invitation included Harry Kane, Lionel Messi, Jamal Musiala, Luis Díaz and Vinícius Júnior. Shakira attended the match with her family.
