A 14-year-old boy was killed and two others were injured after a speeding car struck two motorcycles in the North Cantonment area, as police launched an investigation and residents staged a protest demanding justice.
The deceased was identified as Subhan. Closed-circuit television footage of the incident has also surfaced, showing two vehicles allegedly racing before one of them hit the motorcycles.
The accident occurred on Wednesday in Askari 10, within the limits of the North Cantonment Police Station.
According to police and the available footage, three boys were travelling on two motorcycles when a speeding vehicle struck them.
The footage reportedly shows two cars moving at high speed in what appeared to be a race. One of the vehicles then ran over the two motorcycles, causing panic at the scene.
Subhan died from injuries sustained in the collision, while two other boys were injured. Police said the accident was caused by speeding and negligent driving.
Case registered over Subhan’s death
North Cantonment Police registered a case following the fatal accident and began an investigation.
Police said the case included a charge of culpable homicide and was initially registered against an unidentified girl who was allegedly driving the vehicle. The suspect had not been arrested, and her identity had not been established, according to police sources.
Investigators said efforts were underway to trace the vehicle involved in the crash through its registration number.
Residents protest against FIR
Residents of the area staged a protest late at night, demanding justice for Subhan and legal action against the person responsible for the collision.
The protesters alleged that police had registered an incorrect first information report to protect a man identified as Hamza. They claimed the FIR mentioned unidentified girls instead of Hamza, whom they alleged was driving the vehicle at the time of the crash.

According to police, Hamza’s relatives assured authorities that he would be presented at the police station in the afternoon. The residents ended their protest after receiving assurances from the police.
They demanded that the person found responsible for Subhan’s death be punished in accordance with the law.
