Pakistani envoy Asim Iftikhar said on Friday that the country is working with its partners to reduce tensions in the region.
Speaking at a United Nations Security Council meeting on Iran, Iftikhar expressed serious concern over the recent rise in tensions, saying it was not in anyone’s interest.
Islamabad MoU provides roadmap for resolving issues
He said the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding provides a roadmap for resolving all outstanding issues. The Pakistani representative urged all parties to honour their commitments under the Islamabad MoU.
He said ending tensions was essential for regional and global peace and stability.
