American woman Kelsey Pfendler has set a new world record after becoming the first US woman to cross the Pacific Ocean alone.
According to international media reports, Pfendler completed the 2,400-mile journey from California to Hawaii without any assistance.
The report said the American woman began her voyage on May 21 from Monterey, California, in her 21-foot-long boat. She reached the shores of Hawaii on the night of July 3.
Fendler completed the challenging journey in 43 days, 17 hours and 55 minutes, according to the report.
The American woman not only broke the previous women’s record of 86 days but also surpassed the men’s fastest record of 52 days, becoming the fastest person to cross the Pacific Ocean on this route.
Pfendler is also the youngest woman to successfully complete the route, the report added.
