Senior politician Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri passed away early this morning after battling a heart ailment, family sources confirmed.
He was admitted to a private hospital in Lahore’s Defence area three days ago due to a cardiac condition. According to his family, he breathed his last at 4am today.
Funeral prayers
The funeral prayers of Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri will be offered this evening after Maghrib prayers at Lawrence Road, Lahore.
Family members, political colleagues, and supporters are expected to attend and pay their final respects.
Syed Zaeem Qadri was a senior leader of the Awam Pakistan Party and currently served as the party’s Punjab spokesperson.
Previously, he was a member of the Punjab Assembly representing the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N). During his tenure, he also served as the government spokesperson.
Over the years, he remained an active and vocal presence in Punjab’s political landscape.
Health minister expresses condolences
Punjab Minister for Health and Population Khawaja Imran Nazir expressed deep sorrow over the demise of the senior politician.
He described Syed Zaeem Hussain Qadri as a senior and accomplished political figure. He also said that Zaeem Qadri was a sociable and loving person.
“Punjab politics has lost a smart politician today,” Khawaja Imran Nazir stated while extending condolences to the bereaved family.
He prayed that Allah Almighty grant the deceased a place in His mercy and give the family strength and fortitude to bear this immense loss.
Interior minister mourns loss
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also expressed grief over the passing of Syed Zaeem Qadri.
In a statement issued from Islamabad, Mohsin Naqvi extended his condolences to the family and prayed for the departed soul.
“May Allah Almighty grant Zaeem Qadri a place in His mercy and grant patience to the bereaved family,” the interior minister said.
