Leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, staged a sit-in at the Supreme Court on Friday, voicing concern over the health of the party’s founder and restrictions on family and medical access.
Senior PTI leaders arrived at the Supreme Court and remained seated within the court premises for several hours. The protest centered on access to the imprisoned party founder and transparency surrounding his medical condition.
Party leaders said the sit-in was a constitutional form of protest after repeated requests went unanswered.
Contact with top legal officials
PTI leader Salman Akram Raja said he remained in continuous contact with the attorney general and Supreme Court staff. He added that meetings were also held with Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi and the attorney general.
According to Raja, the core issue is not a political meeting but access to the founder during imprisonment, especially given growing concerns about his health.

Raja said authorities informed PTI that the medical report would be handed over to the founder’s sisters in a sealed envelope. He added that the family would decide after reviewing the report whether the treatment provided is satisfactory.
He stressed that PTI has been requesting permission since yesterday for the founder to meet his personal physician.
KP CM warns of systemic failure
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Afridi said it was unfortunate that the system has become “numb.” He warned that the situation is being pushed to a point where everyone could suffer.
Afridi urged institutions to help resolve the matter within the framework of the constitution and the law.
The chief minister said PTI leaders were waiting for permission to meet the doctors, but the response remained negative. He emphasized that the founder did not address politics and only informed the nation about his health.
Afridi added that if lawful access is not granted, the constitution and law give PTI the right to protest peacefully.
Resolution through legal means
PTI leaders appealed to the authorities to allow the founder to meet his personal physician and family members. They reiterated that their protest is rooted in humanitarian concern and constitutional rights.
The party said it will continue to pursue the matter through legal and constitutional channels.
