The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has intensified its crackdown in a high-profile corruption case by launching an assets beyond means inquiry against the brother of former DG ISI Faiz Hameed, as efforts to arrest the suspect continue.
The FIA Anti-Corruption Cell has formally initiated an inquiry against Najaf Hameed over allegations of possessing assets beyond known sources of income.
According to sources, the inquiry is part of a broader corruption investigation linked to Najaf Hameed, who is the brother of former DG ISI Faiz Hameed.
Sources said the FIA has sought complete financial and asset details of Najaf Hameed from all relevant institutions as part of the ongoing probe. The move aims to assess whether his declared assets align with his known sources of income.
Raids conducted, arrest not made
The FIA Anti-Corruption Cell carried out raids at various locations in an attempt to arrest Najaf Hameed. However, despite multiple operations, the accused could not be apprehended, according to officials familiar with the matter.

Name on travel watch list
Najaf Hameed’s name has also been included in the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL). The step was taken to prevent the suspect from leaving the country while the investigation is underway.
Sources further revealed that Najaf Hameed’s interim bail has been earlier cancelled in connection with the Razi scandal, strengthening the FIA’s position to pursue his arrest. The cancellation has added urgency to the ongoing raids and investigative efforts.
Investigation continues
Officials said the FIA Anti-Corruption Cell is continuing its inquiry and will take further legal action based on evidence gathered during the investigation.
Authorities maintain that accountability will be ensured strictly in accordance with the law, regardless of political or institutional affiliations.
