Once a thriving hub of civilization, art and culture, Peshawar is moving toward reclaiming its glorious film history. The provincial government has earmarked Rs200 million to restore historical references associated with Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor.
Work has already begun on a project aimed at returning their ancestral homes to their original condition.

Restoration work
According to Abdul Samad, the director general of the Department of Archaeology, the project includes structural repairs, careful renovation while preserving the original architectural style, and the installation of informative plaques.
