Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has revealed that he turned down a massive offer of INR 40 crore for endorsing a tobacco brand.
The 64-year-old actor, now a grandfather, is still admired for his remarkable fitness and strong personality, making him an example for younger generations. In a recent interview, Shetty shared that he received the offer but declined it outright.
“I consider myself a role model for the youth, so I cannot associate with something I don’t personally believe in,” he said. He added that he has never compromised his values or used his children’s names for money.
Shetty also noted that although he is not as active in films and at the box office as before, 17- and 18-year-olds still see him as an idol, which he considers his greatest achievement.
He revealed that he had stepped back from acting for some time due to his father’s prolonged illness and eventual passing. Interestingly, he received an offer to return to films on the very day his father passed away.
Shetty said that after the global pandemic, he focused more on himself, which brought financial stability, mental peace, and confidence into his life. He also credited the continuous support from media and fans for keeping him grounded, despite stepping back from the box office race.
