In a significant development in the case involving the deaths of two girls struck by the car of an Islamabad High Court judge’s son, the victims’ families on Saturday forgave the suspect, Abuzar, leading the court to grant him bail and order his release.
The case, which had been under intense public scrutiny, saw a major shift after both families formally informed the court of their decision to pardon the accused.
During proceedings at the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad, the victims’ families recorded their statements before Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi.
One girl’s brother appeared in person to submit the family’s statement, while her mother’s testimony was recorded online.
The father of the second girl also gave his statement in court, confirming forgiveness and reconciliation.

Following these statements, the magistrate accepted underage suspect Abuzar’s bail plea.
Suspect presented after completing physical remand
Abuzar was presented before Judicial Magistrate Shaista Kundi upon completion of a four-day physical remand. After reviewing the reconciliation documents and hearing the victims’ families, the court ordered Abuzar’s release on bail.
Officials noted that all legal formalities were completed in accordance with court procedures.
On Dec 2, the 16-year-old driver killed two girls after striking them with his luxury car in the Red Zone area of Islamabad. The incident occurred when Abuzar Asif, driving at a high speed, collided with the scooter ridden by the victims, who were pronounced dead despite being rushed to hospital.
The driver was immediately detained at the scene. A local court had granted a four-day physical remand for the minor.
The case was registered at Secretariat Police Station under the complaint of Adnan Tajammul. According to the case record, the victims were returning from PNCA when the high-speed vehicle struck them near Secretariat Chowk, resulting in fatal injuries. The police attributed the crash to negligence, recklessness and speeding.
