A 16-year-old driver has killed two girls after striking them with his luxury car in the Red Zone area of Islamabad.
According to details, the incident occurred when Abu Zar Asif, driving at high speed, collided with the scooter ridden by the victims, who were pronounced dead despite being rushed to hospital.
The driver was immediately detained at the scene. A local court granted a four-day physical remand for the minor. The funerals of the deceased, Samreen and Tabinda Batool, were held at the Imam Bargah in Jinnah Gardens, after which they were laid to rest in the local cemetery.
The case was registered at Secretariat Police Station under the complaint of Adnan Tajammul. According to the case record, the victims were returning from PNCA when the high-speed vehicle struck them near Secretariat Chowk, resulting in fatal injuries. The police attributed the crash to negligence, recklessness and speeding.
