The FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi acted on a complaint from the US Consulate, leading to the arrest of NGO owner Uzma Mustafa from Lahore and travel agency owner Muhammad Shabbir from Vehari.
Both were detained outside the US Consulate while accompanying 18 victims attending visa interviews. The accused allegedly collected between Rs2.5 million and Rs3 million each from 14 men and four women, claiming to secure US visas.
