The National Cybercrime Investigation Agency has registered cases against three more well-known social media influencers for their alleged involvement in promoting illegal online trading applications.
Influencers accused of promoting fraudulent apps
According to investigators, the suspects — Iqra Kanwal, Nadeem Mubarak alias Naniwala, and Muhammad Hasnain Shah — encouraged the public to invest in mobile applications that promised high profits but were not legally registered. Authorities claim these influencers used their platforms to lure followers into putting money into fraudulent schemes.
Multiple cases registered
Sources confirmed that three separate cases have been registered against Nadeem Naniwala and Muhammad Hasnain Shah, while a case has also been filed against Iqra Kanwal.
The investigation agency had reportedly summoned the influencers three times to record their statements, but the individuals failed to provide satisfactory responses.
Arrest teams formed
Law enforcement has formed special teams to arrest the accused. Officials allege that the influencers knowingly incited Pakistanis to invest in fake profit-seeking apps, putting thousands of people at financial risk.

A day ago, the NCCIA had registered cases against well-known social media influencers — Rajab Butt, Anas Ali, and Hurairah — accusing them of promoting gambling through betting applications and misleading their followers.
Cybercrime agency moves against influencers
According to officials, the cases were filed in Lahore under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), fraud, and other relevant sections of law. The suspects were allegedly working as brand ambassadors for betting apps, encouraging ordinary people to invest money with promises of high returns.
Prior to legal action, the agency had issued formal notices to the influencers. Despite the warnings, they continued to advertise and promote gambling platforms on social media.
