Pakistan has strongly denied a false news report published by British tabloid Daily Mail, which claimed that Pakistan had threatened a nuclear strike against Israel in defense of Iran.
The story, widely circulated by Indian media outlets, has been labeled “fake news” and an attempt to malign Pakistan’s global image.
According to the Daily Mail report, Pakistan allegedly assured Iran that if Israel launched a nuclear attack, Pakistan would retaliate against Israel with its own nuclear arsenal. However, Pakistani authorities have categorically rejected this narrative, terming it a baseless and irresponsible fabrication.
Pakistan has clarified that it would not become a direct party in the war between Iran and Israel. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif took to social media to dismiss the claims, reiterating Pakistan’s long-standing stance on nuclear policy.
“Pakistan is fully committed to all international nuclear regulations,” he wrote. “Our nuclear capability is strictly for national defense and the well-being of our people.”

The minister also urged the global community to pay closer attention to Israel’s unregulated nuclear capabilities. “Israel is not a signatory to any international nuclear treaties. The world should be concerned about the nuclear arsenal of a rogue state that operates without oversight,” he added. “Backing such a state could lead to devastating consequences.”
On Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s defense readiness and nuclear capabilities amid rising tensions in the region, declaring that any hostile move against Pakistan will be met with a strong and immediate response.
Addressing the Senate, he strongly rejected rumours of Pakistan threatening nuclear action against Israel, labeling them as “fake news.” Dar pointed out that false reports were even published in British media, and highlighted a resurfaced 2011 interview of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu as part of a wave of misinformation since June 13.

“War is not a joke or child’s play — it’s a grave matter,” he stressed. “We must be cautious of misleading narratives and continue to correct the record regarding fake news.”
On Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly rejected reports circulating in Israeli media claiming that Pakistan had threatened Israel with a nuclear strike, labelling them as “baseless and fabricated".
According to details, a spokesperson for the MoFA stated that there is no truth whatsoever to the reports being broadcast by Israeli outlets. “These claims are entirely unfounded. The Israeli media is spreading misinformation and presenting false narratives about Pakistan,” the spokesperson said.
The ministry emphasised that Pakistan is a responsible nuclear state and an important regional power. “Such fake news is not only misleading but also aimed at creating unnecessary tensions,” the spokesperson added.
